I definitely recommend this webcam for the non-techie (and remember that video quality on the receiving end depends a lot on the speed and quality of the other party's Internet connection). Setup was easy, after downloading updated software (minor bug in that it wanted to download it twice - after I cancelled the second download, the installation proceeded w/o a problem). Not many other places sell a Skype version of this camera. with this webcam, I splurged for the trivial extra cost. I'm not sure how exactly this version is specifically for Skype, but since that's my primary app. comments on other models, but this one seemed well-liked.
