Many which Shipped with XP or VISTA COA instead of 7 COA. These were not consumer machines they were corporate and Military versions. The user went on to accuse the techs of switching the WIN7 COA out 8 years ago with a Vista COA. Yesterday There was a user demanding Windows 7 license where the service tag configuration clearly states VISTA. The issue wasn't the Release Date it was the Corporate Types Demanding To stay with XP/Vista. Release Date has Nothing whatsoever to do with what COA came with a Corporate/GOV Latitude.
The Key is in the battery compartment so it isn't going to get rubbed off. The person is asking for a key here because they lost it or more likely NEVER HAD a 7 Key. DELL does not maintain a list of what KEY in SLP or COA etc came with any particular system. Your assertion that it MUST come with windows 7 COA is not based in Fact. A person asking to "retrieve a windows 7 key" is not going to be successful.
